2. How long have you been making websites?
i took a web design class in highschool (2016), but just started on my own in march 2026.
3. And what got you into the hobby?
i love looking at art and discovered neocities around 2022 (i've been on the internet since 2011 and thought neocities and neopets were the same.. oops.)
4. What kind of website are you most interested in?
blogs that kind of display a person's personality and interests. initially inspired by zonaplankton.net
5. What's your workflow? Do you plan your websites out thoroughly or do you come up with the design as you go along?
well i don't have much of a workflow yet, so i'm coming up with the design as i go along i suppose. once i learn more about coding im sure i'd redo everything and plan it all out in the future.

7. What's your favourite part about making websites?
the customization and actual coding that actually goes into all this.
8. And the thing you struggle with the most?
discipline.
9. Do you keep the same layout on all of your pages? Or do you use different ones?
haha.. we'll see.

on a scale of 1 to 10, i'd comfortably say 4.4 / 10

12. What is your favourite HTML element?
a href.. i love clicking and opening new tabs!!!!!

uhhh write your first line of code..

nope.

16. Does your website have a theme that you stick to?
it will.
17. Are you more focused on content or design?
hopefully i have a good balance of both!

aside from neocities, no i don't.
19. What do you think of nostalgia-focused or "retro" websites?
love love love it. i feel like being on the internet in the early 2010s really gave me an appreciation for early websites and i'm happy to experience even a little bit of it before everything turned into ugly-corpo slop.
20. Is your HTML valid? Do you even check?

21. What are your opinion on buttons and banners?
awesome.
22. What do you think of button walls in particular?
like a wall of buttons/links? if it's a dedicated page for it sure.
23. If you started over again, would you make something similar or completely different?
probably similar depending if it's for my main site or a side project.

of course not :p

notepad++
26. Why do you use that one?
i used to use notepad++ for minecraft mods and editing my cs configs. lolz
27. Do you host your image files on your web server, or on another host?
prob another host.

29. How much server space would you estimate your main website takes up?
not a lot.
30. Do you keep local backups of your files?
no but now i think i should.
31. Do you prefer simple or highly visual websites?
depends on what you're trying to achieve :p
32. Do you stick to certain colours? Do you do that on purpose, or is it your subconscious?
there may be a lot of blue since its my favorite color, but whatever looks cool together.
33. Have you ever thought about quitting? Why?
i haven't even started!!
34. Do you have many webmaster friends, or is it a solitary hobby?
solitary... i'm not telling my irl friends until i have something to show :p
35. Do people in your real life know about your website?
see above.
36. Do you update your website very often? How often is "very often"?
knowing me, probably not very often.
37. And the overall design, do you change that much? Why or why not?
i'll probably try to stick to a design and probably update that initial design.

me/hobby-focused. i just want to share what i like :p

nope.

it'd be cool i guess. also im not saying what i do for work :p

i'd like to but no.
42. Some people reject social media and use websites as a replacement. Do you keep social media outside of your website?
i probably will other than my twitter account. maybe youtube.
43. How about instant messengers? Do you use a mainstream one like Discord or Telegram? Or something like Matrix? Do you avoid them?
discord yes.
44. Do you listen to music while you work on websites? If so, what kinds of artists?
absolutely. all kinds of stuff. my favs are tyler the creator, machine girl, hakushi hasegawa, kaytranada, pink pantheress, MF DOOM, and many many others.
45. Do you keep everything you make on one website, or do you have more than one?
i'd like to have it all on one site! but i'm sure it's better to spread some stuff out.
46. On a similar note, do you keep to one topic on your site, or many?
on this site, probably all my interests. twitter mainly art, youtube mainly video making stuffs. :p
47. Do you present your real self, or at least try? Or do you construct a persona on purpose?
i hope i'm presenting my true self, but i feel there definitely is a bit of an unintentional persona :p

not yet!!
49. Are you happy with the way HTML and CSS currently work?
i mean its pretty barebones which is pretty nice.
50. What are practices that you think people should avoid?
practicing and studying is good, but put that all into your work or you'll forever never finish anything you work on! i still struggle with that to this day so don't be like me. :p (seriously.)
51. What about under-utilised practices, or things you think people should do more?
try something new. even if you know you don't like to do new things or you're too much of a perfectionist and get frustrated being a beginner at something, just try it out for a bit and see how you like it!
52. Do you use a lot of semantic HTML? Or are you guilty of generic structure?

53. Do you consider different browsers?
for now, probably not. i'd probably be considering the browser that i currently use. (find out in the next question!!)
54. Speaking of, what's your preferred browser? Convince your readers why they should use it.

i'm too dumb to use anything else.

i don't, but i'm assuming it's like an actual shrine so it seems cool. :p

i hope not?

i feel like everyone that is creating websites are striving to create their ideal website? i hope i can achieve that. :p

not a good one but yes! making my own assets sound fun. :p

i don't know any!!
65. Is there a habit you just can't get away from no matter how hard you try?
so far it's playing counter strike 2, but i've been successfully weaning off it due to the current state of the game. (IT SUCKS!)
66. What's your biggest advice for a new webmaster?
do a lot of research and just get to it! it really isn't very hard (as far as i can tell.) and don't be worried about using some sites that you enjoy as reference as long as you're not directly stealing and claiming as your own.
67. Do you keep all your styling in CSS? Or do you hard-code some?

nope.

i feel like when i first found out about the inspect page button i did, but not anymore unless i'm genuinely curious.
76. How did YOU learn how to make websites?
i learned basic html in high school and a little bit from editing bios and showcases on steam.
77. Do you ever force elements to do things they're not supposed to?
haven't yet but that sounds cool.

79. When you're sizing stuff, what do you use first? Do you use px, em, %, or something else?
uhhh.

i haven't researched any but i'll update it once i find one i really like!

i would love to make a website with my friends if they'd be down for it. probably to curate stuff that we like. :p
82. Do you surf the Web to find new personal websites very often?
not like A LOT but once i do the rabbit hole can go very deep.
83. Do you bookmark other people's websites? How would you feel knowing someone else bookmarked yours?
yes! i'd be honored to be bookmarked by someone :D
84. What do you want people to be most impressed with when they see your website?
probably the layout and theme that i come up with. i'm really into the visuals and also the resources/links that people like to share as well as their inspirations.
85. Are you interested in technology outside of websites? Do you collect?
i build pcs, collect physical media, dabble in a bit of photography and also collect a lot of plushes...
86. How often and for how long are you online?
chronically online.
87. When it comes to your website, who is your target audience?
people who enjoy the same stuff as i do! :p hopefully people that were born in 2000 like me if i had to choose a target demographic.
88. Have you ever been interested in XHTML?

89. Do you program in general? Have you ever written a program for use with or on your website, not counting simple JavaScript?
i've tried learning but never put much effort into it. maybe if i continue with web design i'll change my mind.
90. Speaking of programs that help you make websites, what do you think of static site generators (SSGs)? Have you ever used one?
never used one.
91. Do you keep a hitcounter? Why or why not?
sure why not. it's like stattrak right? :p
92. Do you frequent forums? Which ones?
i used to a lot as a kid, but i feel like the era of forums is kinda fading away. i'd love to find some that i could join!
93. Do you write your page content directly into the editor, or do you prepare it elsewhere, like a text document or a Word document?
i'd probably end up doing both.
94. Do you think you appear cool to others? A more accurate answer now: do other people ever say you're cool?
i hope i'm cool to some.. my friends say i'm cool sometimes.. :p
95. Are you embarrassed of your old work? Have you ever deleted everything out of shame?
when i was a teenager i was extremely embarrassed by my old work and deleted a lot of it in fear people from school would find it. i now regret that decision. KEEP THE CRINGE!! you won't regret it. plus i like seeing improvement over the years.
96. Would you close down your website if you couldn't update it, or would you leave an archive?
i'd leave an archive.
97. Do you reveal a lot about yourself on your website? Or are you more secretive?
i feel like i'll probably do a mix of both. mainly sharing what i like to consume and keeping out the personal stuff.
98. Are you willing to reveal who your best online friend is, and/or if they have a website?
if they consented to it, sure.
99. And do you optimise the images on your website?
i feel like that'd be a smart idea.
